"You do not have to instruct a flower to bloom. You do not have to tell it how to root. You do not have to wish for it to sprout, you do not have to affirm that it will continue to reach toward the sun. You do not have to fear that it will not grow.

You only have to arrange the environment so that growth is the inevitable outcome".

PSYCHOTHERAPEUTIC COACHING

Psychotherapeutic coaching is an integrative approach that combines elements of psychotherapy with coaching techniques to support personal development, mental wellbeing, and goal achievement. Unlike traditional coaching, which is primarily future-focused and action-oriented, psychotherapeutic coaching draws on the psychological depth and therapeutic skills of a qualified mental health professional to address underlying patterns, beliefs, and emotional blocks that may be holding a person back.

In psychotherapeutic coaching, the coach is often also a trained counsellor or psychotherapist. This dual expertise allows them to safely work at depth, tackling not just surface-level goals but also the root causes of destructive patterns or feelings of being stuck. The process is collaborative, with the coach and client working as equals to increase self-awareness, self-management, and self-efficacy.

Sessions may blend structured, goal-oriented coaching methods with therapeutic approaches such as person-centered, solution-focused, or cognitive-behavioral techniques. This hybrid model means that psychotherapeutic coaching can address both the "doing self" (tasks, roles, skills) and the "being self" (core identity, values, relationships), supporting both high performance and mental wellbeing.

SUMMARY

Psychotherapeutic coaching is a holistic, client-centered process that leverages both coaching and psychotherapy to facilitate meaningful change, personal growth, and emotional healing, especially for those who want to achieve goals while also addressing deeper psychological barriers.
